If they can open your phone
Quick exit is already in the header. These are the habits around it. A weather page does not help if the browser history still says “narcissistic wife.”
Before you open the site
- Use a private or incognito window
- Do not stay logged into a shared browser profile
- Do not bookmark this site on a shared phone
- Do not let the browser save passwords for email you just created
While you are here
- Quick exit is the arrow at the top right. It also runs if you press Shift + Esc
- It leaves for a weather site and tries to open another tab as cover
- Logs and checklists on this site stay in this browser. A private window forgets them when you close it — export first if you need the notes
After, if the window was not private
- Chrome or Edge: History, then clear browsing data, last hour, cookies and history
- Safari on iPhone: Settings, Safari, Clear History and Website Data — this clears more than the last hour, so know that
- Firefox: History, Clear recent history, last hour
- Check recently closed tabs. Autofill can still suggest the address
Better than clearing
A phone they do not unlock. A work computer. A friend’s device for the lawyer email. Clearing history is a backup, not a plan.
