Not only a girlfriend or a wife
The pattern is contempt, control, and reality-twisting. The person doing it may be a wife, a husband, a boyfriend, a girlfriend, an ex, or someone you are not “official” with. The tactics do not change because the pronouns do.
This site is for you if
- A partner of any gender systematically puts you down and then blames you for noticing
- You are a man, and people treat that as proof you cannot be the one being harmed
- The harm is at work, in public, or from family — not only at home
- You are gay, bisexual, straight, or you do not want a label on the relationship
What we do not assume
We do not assume you have children, a marriage certificate, money, or a clean record. We do not assume you never yelled back. Pages use “she” in some older stories because that is the most common search. The tools are written so you can use them whoever the other person is.
